Uniform

Upholding of high standards of dress and appearance are important factors in helping to set the tone of the school, encouraging a sense of pride and providing equal opportunities for each pupil in the school.

Please note that from September 2012 children will be required to wear white shirts.

Winter Uniform

The winter uniform is worn from the start of the school year in September.

For girls

  • School tie
  • Black shoes
  • Dark grey skirt or black tailored trousers
  • Pale blue long-sleeved blouse
  • Royal blue v-necked pullover or cardigan
  • Black opaque tights or white socks
  • Royal blue hat, scarf and gloves

For boys

  • School tie
  • Black shoes
  • Dark grey trousers
  • Pale blue long-sleeved shirt
  • Royal blue v-necked pullover
  • Grey socks
  • Royal blue hat, scarf and gloves

Summer Uniform

Pupils will be advised when it is appropriate to wear summer uniform. Pupils may wear long-sleeved shirts in summer, if they wish, but they must be worn with a school tie.

For girls

  • Black shoes
  • Dark grey skirt or black tailored trousers
  • Pale blue short-sleeved blouse with an open neck
  • Royal blue v-necked pullover or cardigan
  • White socks

For boys

  • Black shoes
  • Dark grey trousers
  • Pale blue short-sleeved shirt with an open neck
  • Royal blue v-necked pullover
  • Grey socks

PE Kit (boys and girls)

Outside 

  • Reversible royal blue rugby shirt
  • White embroidered polo shirt *
  • Football boots
  • Royal blue football shorts
  • Royal blue long socks
  • Royal blue track suit (optional)

Inside

  • Royal blue football shorts
  • White embroidered polo shirt *
  • Trainers (low style, non-marking)
  • Short white socks

 * Please note from September 2010 the white polo shirt (embroidered with the school badge) should be purchased from Woodward & Stalder, Windsor.  Rugby shirt, shorts and blue socks are also available here.

Remember!

  1. All items of uniform, including towels, must be clearly marked with your name.
  2. Girls' skirts should be of a suitable length for school wear and not be extremely short.
  3. Pupils who have long hair should always have it tied back.
  4. Shoes should be suitable for growing feet and appropriate for school use.
  5. High heels, strappy sandals or sling backs are not appropriate for school use.
  6. Trainers are not permitted for school wear during lessons other than PE.
  7. Fashions which are unsuitable for school uniform are discouraged, e.g. extreme hairstyles and experimentations with hair colours.
  8. With the exception of watches and one pair of gold studs in the lobe only, jewellery is not permitted.

All items of school uniform and PE kit may be purchased from Woodward & Stalder, The Arches, Windsor.

 The Friends of Dedworth Middle School run a Thrift Shop selling good quality items of second-hand uniform.  This is open on the first Thursday of each month at 3.15pm in the school hall.
